Not only is she an incredibly fun person to know, her designs at Immodest Cotton are enough to brighten even the darkest day. We love the ethical standards she holds her brand up to, and the careful hands-on approach to Immodest Cotton's creations make each one charming and well thought out down to the smallest detail. She describes herself as "pretty much a goof ball" and someone "who loves working with [her] hands. She also loves "the process of solving problems with creative design." Shira describes Immodest cotton as a brand that "creates functional bags and accessories that bring joy in their daily use, and are meant to get better with age and wear."
1. What is your favorite part of the creative process?
The moment when you realize you figured out the answer to something you've been thinking about for days.
For me it often happens right before I fall asleep, so I keep a pen and paper by the bed.
2. What is your favorite creation that you have brought to existence?
other than my 2 kids? I do feel like I poured the best of myself into them!
Another fun project included working with my best friend who's a food stylist to design a perfect apron- with enough pockets, was the right length and was cut in the perfect weight fabric. We even included a pocket for tweezers - just in case! I sourced antique linen that was handwoven in Europe in the early 1900's, so each apron is unique.
3. What aesthetic are you most drawn to?
Organized chaos, in bright colors
4. What is your favorite room in the home?
The kitchen, because my best conversations historically happen there.
Something magical happens when you multitask and use several parts of your brain simultaneously.
5. What is your favorite design from Sunny’s Pop?
L'IMPULSIVE VASE. The color is outrageously good.
